The Arabian Boys’s tennis team captured the Madison County
tennis tournament with wins over Highland and Anderson on Saturday.
In the morning match, Pendleton Heights defeated Highland by a
score of 3-2 with Matt Tran, Graham McMullen, and Brandon Hart
winning all the singles events. Doubles teams Evan McMullen / Zack
Wright and Connor Wilson / Evan Hart lost close matches.
In the finals against Anderson, again the singles players carried
the day, but the doubles team of Evan McMullen and Zack Wright
won a thrilling match at #1 doubles winning from behind in a third set
super tie-breaker. Evan Hart and Connor Wilson won their match with
a second set tie-breaker. Thus, the Arabians beat the Indians 5-0 to
bring the trophy home. Pendleton Heights is now 5-0 on the season
and play at Shelbyville on Tuesday.

The Varsity football team defeated Greenfield Central last Friday night 28-0. The Arabian defense shut out the Cougars holding them to only 4 first downs and 135 total yards. The Butler Brothers, Matt and Patrick, led the way on defense along with Jordan Huth, James Main, and Clint Nicholson. The offense was lead by Ravaughn White. Ray rushed for 68 yards, caught 2 touchdown passes, one from Mitchell Patishall and one from Grant Hendershot. Tylis Larkin scored on a 16 yards touchdown run and Grant Hendershot scored on a 1 yard quarterback sneak. Jon Furrow was 4 for 4 on Extra point conversions. The Arabians Travel to New Palestine this Friday to take on the Dragons. Game time is 7:30

Pendleton got beat by Yorktown 163-182. Co-medalists was Lauren Patishall who shot 38. Other scores were Ashleigh Wise 43, Abby Wright 46, Micah perry 55, and Haley Brown 55. Record is now 4-3.

It was a great night for the Lady Arabians who placed 4th out of 23 complete teams at the Arabian Round Up. Leading the Lady Arabians was Mur Hagerman finishing in 8th place out of 154 runners.

by the score of 5-0. Pendleton’s record is now 2-0 and our next match
is against Elwood on Thursday, Aug 27th in the first round of the
Madison County Tournament.

The Arabians finally get their first win of the season in a conference
battle in Rushville. Rushville had the Arabians down 2-0 in the 2nd half
when Senior Trey Merryman narrowly missed twice with nice shots that
both hit the crossbar. Then with 26 minutes remaining in the match
Junior Kevin Mellinger nailed a header into the net from a perfect cross
from junior Mitch Wattleworth. Thirteen minutes later Junior Josh
Collier nailed a 22 yarder for a score to tie the match. At end of
regulation play the score was tied 2-2 and in an overtime shootout
Mellinger, Collier, Aaron McCrocklin, Josh Petry, Kyle Eby, Wattleworth
and Taylor Sullivan each scored to beat Rushville 7-6. Freshman Tyler
Eby had 2 saves on 4 Rushville shots.
PHHS travels to Greenfield Central on Tuesday Sept. 1 for another
conference match at 6:30pm.

Pendleton Heights boys tennis team defeated Elwood 5-0 in the
first round of the Madison County tennis tournament. Their next
match is on Saturday at 9:00 agains the Frankton/Highland winner.

Both girls soccer teams were victorious last night against the Rushville Lions. The varsity won 9-0 with Katie Hughes and Erica Manchess each scoring two goals. Megan Wiles, Molly Markle, Chelsea Hodgson and Emily Blake all scored a goal. Molly Craig, Jamie McCrocklin, Megan Wiles, Sarah Church, Molly Markel, Chelsea Hodgson, and Erica Manchess all had assists. The JV team was also victorious, 6-1.
