08/21/2010 – The Pendleton Heights Arabians Boy’s Varsity Soccer defeated Richmond Red Devils team. The score was 2 to 1 in a non-league contest played at .

On Saturday August 21st the Arabians boys varsity soccer team played two matches, against Center Grove and Richmond. PH got their first regular season victory in the 2nd match, defeating Richmond 2-1. At 25:10 in the first half Josh Collier surprised Richmond as the Red Devil players were setting up for a direct kick defense after a Richmond foul. Collier realized they were taking their time to set up and quickly launched a shot over the RHS defenders and past the goalkeeper for the score from 25 yds. In the 2nd half Aaron McCrocklin received a perfect crossing pass from the left sideline  from Brian Wolverton and “Mac” fired the shot to make the score 2-0. RHS scored with 25 minutes remaining to make it 2-1 but PH held on for the win. Tyler Eby had 3 saves on 6 RHS shots. PH was outshot 6-3.

The morning match was a 2-0 loss for PH against a strong Center Grove team. Eby had 6 saves on 10 CG shots as PH was out shot 10-1.

Coach Holden: “I am proud of the defensive effort from this weekend against both Center Grove and Richmond opponents. Our offense got better as the day went on and we found the net twice against Richmond. Plenty of times we were on the offensive attack against Richmond but the Richmond defense kept us from getting a shot on target. Offensive player of the weekend is Aaron McCrocklin for his game winning goal in the second half of the Richmond game. Defensive player of the weekend is Matt Brown for his play at right back”.
