BOYS SWIMMERS IMPROVE OVER LAST YEAR AT SECTIONAL

1. The boys swimming and diving team scored 39 more points than last year to finish in 7th place – only 8 points from 5th place – in the Hamilton Southeastern sectional.

2. Jacob Childress finished in 3rd place in the 100 backstroke where he qualified for the state championships. He is seeded 11th for Friday’s state preliminaries. Jacob also placed 8th in the 200 I.M.

3. Senior Cody Thrasher placed 8th in diving.

4. Senior Jon Hales finished in 10th place in the the 200 I.M. and 8th place in the 100 breaststroke.

5. Also in the 100 breaststroke, Austin Parrish placed 7th and Josh Collier 9th.

6. Andrzej Kedziora placed 9th in both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

7. Also in the 100 backstroke, Austin Walker scored for the Arabians in 12th place.

8. The Medley Relay team of Jacob Childress, Austin Parrish, Kyle Hart, and Andrzej Kedziora placed 5th.

9. Jon Hales, Kyle Hart, Sanson Pittman, and Chris Short placed 6th in the 200 Free Relay.

10. Chris Short, Andrzej Kedziora, Jacob Childress, and Jon Hales finished in 7th place in the 400 Free Relay.

Next Meet

1. Jacob Childress will swim in the state swimming prelims Friday night. The meet starts at 6:00 PM. Swimming and diving finals begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
