Wrestlers Start Season with Three Wins at Hamilton Heights
The Wrestling Team opened the 2009-2010 season by going 3-2 Saturday at the Hamilton Heights Husky Invitational. The Arabians scored wins over Hamilton Heights 54-18, Guerin Catholic 75-0 and Indianapolis Decatur Central 78-3. The team was defeated by Indianapolis North Central 41-27 and Noblesville 42-27. The Arabians finished third out of six teams in the event.
Going undefeated, and winning weight class championships, on the day for PH were freshman Zach Wise at 112 lbs, sophomore Mason Todd at 119 and senior Justin Eshelman at 125. Earning 4-1 records were Larry Whiteley at 130, Clint Nicholson at 152, Kyle Smitherman at 215 and Kyle Babb at 285. Austin Ray, Alex Ray and Henry Nichols were all 3-2 on the day.
After Tuesday’s meet with Hoosier Heritage Conference foe Greenfield Central the varsity will return to action on December 5 at the New Castle Invitational.
