HA Staff Report
Mist if the
Hoosier Heritage Conference teams have to be very happy with their draw in the
upcoming sectional tournaments. That is definitely not the case for New
Palestine and Mt. Vernon. These two HHC powers, both ranked highly in 3A, get
the reward of opening tourney action versus each other in the New Palestine
Sectional. That may not be bad for the top rated Dragons, but the Marauders
could obviously think of better alternatives. Here is a quick look at how HHC
squads fared in the pairings.
The other
two HHC teams at New Palestine, Shelbyville and Rushville, also drew each other
in opening round action. The good news is that they drew opposite of New
Palestine. Hamilton Heights is the team awaiting the winner of the first round
clash.
Yorktown
drew Muncie South in the opening round at Blackford. However, the host Bruins
would likely be the second round opponent. Meanwhile, Delta will get a strong
test right off the bat. The Eagles will see Mississinewa in the bye round.
In 4A, host
Pendleton Heights drew Connersville in the opening round and Greenfield-Central
will clash with Richmond. The good news here is that the two strong HHC squads
will not see each other until the final game.
